Club AGM

Our Club AGM was held last Monday 20th of January and we had a fantastic turnout with over seventy attending which was one of the best attended AGM in years, a sure sign our Club is healthy and vibrant. It was a good AGM for our Club with many positive viewpoints on the year ahead. Four members of the Club were made Honorary members for their long and dedicated service to the Club. John Kirwan who has been one of the most active members of the Club Lotto team and he is literally worth his weight in gold to the Club, Johnny Butler another long serving member of our Club who joined in the late sixties and has unbroken service since. Joe Cuddihy, another leading light of the Lottery committee and he has served in many, if not every, position in the Club, without people like Joe our Club would not exist. Last of the four is Milo Carey one of our longest serving members having joined the Club in the 1950’s Milo served two consecutive terms as Captain in the sixties’ and has been one of our Trustees for many years.

Men’s Spring League 2020.

The Men’s spring league will be starting in February, please submit your details to the competition secretary directly or via the weekly newsletter link. The Competition rules are also on the entry link on the website. It’s that time of year again when we need people to come forwards to play for the Club in inter-club competitions. The entry forms are up on men’s noticeboard in the hallway for you to enter and so are the entry requirements for the individual competitions. It’s a fantastic opportunity for members to play for the club and a great way for new members to meet your fellow members. SO, go on, please put your names in and maybe this will be our year to get to the finals and win a pennant. Alternatively, you can enter your name by e-mail to the men’s competition secretary.

Course News

Lately it has been noticed that we have a build-up of unrepaired pitch marks on our greens! PLEASE repair your pitch marks and ONE more if you can. Remember a pitch-mark repaired on time and correctly will heal in less than 24 hours but an unrepaired pitch-mark will be evident for up to a week. If you want good greens please do your part.
