Last weekend the 22nd and 23rd our Gents played over 12 holes in a singles stableford and the kinder of the two days weather wise was Sunday with little or no wind after a very blustery Saturday. 41 played and we had some excellent scoring despite the soft conditions, aren’t those greens just fantastic. The winner with a fantastic 29 points was James Hartley for a prize of €60 and second with 28 points for a prize of €30 was Michael Tobin. We had two 2s, with both on the 4th from Jim Wellwood on Saturday and John Proctor on Sunday for a prize of €20 each.

Some of the ‘hardier’ gentlemen braved the Arctic conditions on Wednesday 19th last to play in the OPEN singles. We had some fantastic scoring over the 12 hole competition despite the bitter wintry windy conditions. Two players tied on 29 points with Ross Holden, playing off a competition reduced 5 handicap, winning on count-back. Ross was also the only winner of the two’s club.
