We had a great turnout for our President Eamon Holohan’s prize last weekend, with almost 180 entering. The course was in great condition with fast greens and pin placements tricky. The Saturday players had the best conditions and that was reflected with all the top places going to those who played that day.

Details on Prize giving will be publicised when we know them. We had 13 people with 2’s . Note dates for this week include Wed Open singles and at the weekend we will have the Junior and Intermediate scratch cups (also Open events).
A very high bar set for our first competition following the Covid shutdown.
We had 170 golfers on our timesheet and 130 of these entered our Open singles.
Hopefully the 40 who missed out on the competition will enter next week.
Tommy and Noel assisted by some volunteers have the course in excellent condition.
We also have Mark going around to rake the bunkers and they are looking good.
Scoring was hot with 26 players on 36 points or better but there was no problem
identifying the winner Peter Ryan with a fantastic 47 points.
The handicap Sec will be busy !!!

Better weather this week and the course is improving daily. The greens are slick and as good as anywhere. With the longer days, we hope the worst of the winter is behind us and we can get on with playing golf. Our winner on Wednesday4th March with 27 points was John Ryan who won a prize of €50.
